My name is Bocagio dos Santos. I am originally from East Timor. I am currently living and working in the United Kingdom.
I have been working as a translator/interpreter in the United Kingdom since August 2013. I have since been translating/interpreting from Tetum (also Fataluku and Bahasa Indonesia) into English, and vice-versa. I have TQUK Level 6 Diploma in Community Interpreting, I am Police Approved Interpreter/Translator (PAIT Register Ref: 20177) and became MOJ approved linguist since 2013. I have BA in Social Philosophy from School of Philosophy in Jakarta- Indonesia and Certificate, Diploma and MA in Management from Oxford Brookes University, UK.
I am fluent in English, Tetum (Mother tongue), Bahasa Indonesia (used to be mother tongue), Fataluku (native dialect).
In 2003 to 2005 I worked as translator and interpreter in the Ministry of Health under Global Fund agent in East Timor. I translated documents from Tetum and Bahasa Indonesia to English or vice-verse mostly in health services and legal matters. I also interpreting in the meetings between Global Fund, Ministry of Health and its stakeholders.
I am an enhanced CRB holder and I have also been granted NPPV 3 Clearance for all UK Police Forces including Metropolitan Police.
